Scandinavia seems to have no end of hugely talented Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Bands and Bombus from Sweden deliver on all fronts with their latest Album “Your Blood” a release full of classic traditional Heavy Metal to warm the cockles of Metal traditionalist’s hearts and show the uninitiated to the genre that Heavy Metal isn’t all screamo Death growls.
The guys deliver an Album the way it used to be with clear concise lyrics and head-banging choruses to enrapture and beguile the masses.
The recently released “Killer” opens this opus in fine style with Fredrik Berglund's superb Vocals that mesmerize you as you fly high to punch the sky and sing the chorus to the Metal heavens, this is a stunning opening to a must-have release, the smooth fluid musicianship from these veterans of the scene is outstanding, with Johnas Meiton and Simon Solomon on Guitar, with the Rhythm section of Peter Asp Drums and Ola Henriksson on Bass securing and delivering the solid foundation of the insanely addictive album with "Your Blood".
Like so many of the tracks on here see you hitting the repeat button its catchy chorus instantly tears with its talons into your soul with “The One”. The Album just continues to get stronger and stronger as you progress through, as “ No Rules ” is pure and simply impressive and my favorite on here ( today anyway) will once again have you punching the air, singing your lungs out, awesome stuff! Change that "Take You Down" is my fave! ha.. this screams the next single, radio-friendly and hellishly groovy moves spill out of your speakers. Ok am thinking of chilling out on the bayou in New Orleans as the next song "Your Blood" opens, It has a different feel where the band shows their influences as this smooth rocking tuneage infects your brain and again sees u hitting that button again and again!
The delicious "The Beast" is up with its deep doom-infused vibes and moves to lead into "Leave and Let Die" a track for some reason on my dead early jaunts to work I kept having to go back to, it is a great tonic for waking you up with its dam catchy clever fun lyrics, seeing you smiling like a maniac and scaring the other passengers on the arduous journey to earn a crust! "Carmina" beats you senseless with its opening, another hard-rocking anthem.
The penultimate track "Lo and Behold" shows no mercy with its fast unrelenting delivery as we come to the final song on here "Alone" an unrpetent bruising number resplendent with devilish tones and bells from the pits of damnation a stellar end to "Your Blood".
This opus marks an exciting new chapter for the band. The album blends their signature heavy metal and classic rock sound with modern elements, creating a fresh yet familiar experience for fans. It’s great to see bands like Bombus keeping the spirit of traditional heavy metal alive and introducing it to new audiences.
