                                                 Kingsfoil Interview 26/10/24

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
We draw from so many influence but predominantly Incubus, Alter Bridge, Thin
Lizzy probably cover the metal, classic rock, and progressively experimental side
with pop influences draw from the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince and Justin
Timberlake. We love to fused these things together and tend to end up
somewhere in the broad ballpark of Alt Rock

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Life, stories and experiences. Sometimes I want to convey an emotion in the
lyrics, sometimes I want to bring about an energy with the feel of the music and
the lyrics as facilitatory. We always want a good groove to rock to, and we believe
in hooky choruses so people can sing/shout along.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
We have a huge amount of fun rocking out to Find Your Way, but collectively I
think we enjoy performing Physical live. The recorded version is a bit more funky
and poppy, but live we really let rip and rock it up whilst keeping the groovey edge.
It’s a versatile song. Whips & Chains deserves a nod too as a standout for all of
us.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2024/25
We are booked to head to Worthing, Plymouth and Winchester before the end of
the year with a couple of hometown shows in Bournemouth too. Then we kick of
the year in Chelmsford, London and Poole. We haven’t got any festivals lined up
as yet, which is a shame. If you’re reading this and want a stellar band on your bill
get in touch!

MM: What can we expect from Kingsfoil live
High energy, pulse-racing, hip pumping, head nodding, ear caressing alternative
rock-funk fused with a sprinkle of metal and blues for extra flavour.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
They’re often long days and nights travelling to and from places for such a short
set which is probably the worst bit, but the best bit is always being able to make
new friends and fans at the shows, hang out afterwards, and performing gives us
such a buzz seeing people enjoy themselves.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
InMe, Incubus, The Darkness

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)
and why
Alter Bridge at the O2 in London was insane. It was a stadium show so the atmosphere was electric, and
so so powerful.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Headlining Live & Unheard in The Lighthouse twice, and receiving incredible
feedback from the many local music industry professional in attendance there. It
really helps to reassure us that we’re on the right track.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Make Yourself by Incubus
Permission to Land by the Darkness

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have
people watching you?
Me personally? Nope! It was so long ago, and I was so scared I can’t remember
much of it.
By the time we got Kingsfoil onto the stage though I was well experienced, and I
remember it being an incredible feeling. I feel we’ve come a long way since then,
polished our sound up substantially and are in a good position to push on.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
I never had band posters on my wall – I did have a large collection of CDs though,
ranging from Eminem to Linkin Park to Queen and even the likes of Korn.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other
person
Probably Jimi Hendrix. He opened people’s eyes to experimenting and choosing
your own path. He died so young but had such an impact by then it changed how
people approached pop music.

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Currently, we are gathering support on our freshly launched Patreon page
(patreon.com/kingsfoil) so we can film our fourth and final music video for this EP
release cycle. It’s an 8 minute song so it’s going to be a short movie, pretty much.
We have an ambitious plan for it, but it will be costly. But beyond that we want to
bring our fans together so we can provide a much more personalised and
rewarding experience as social media can be challenging and too noisy.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Haha, we talk about this often. Right now I’d pitch for Boys Are Back In Town but a

modernised, rockier and up tempo Kingsfoil rendition with plenty of fun guitar
trickery in there.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
We bring together all of the best parts of rock, metal and pop into a neatly, crisp
packaged punch of audio satisfaction. Don’t believe me? Only one way to find
out...

MM: Four words to describe Kingsfoil
Alternative Rock-Funk Fusion
